John 15: 1 - 2 Spiritual Fruit is developed in our spirit, only one way, by the Spirit of God.

Talking about spiritual fruit does not mature them in our spirit. Our mind can think on them, but that does not mature them in our spirit. Only when the Love of God flows from the Vine, Jesus Christ, to the branch, the believers, does spiritual fruit mature. The Father is the one who instructs the Holy Spirit how to dress the branches, believers, which the spiritual fruit may mature.

Now for all of this to make sense to believers, they must receive the Word of God by the Spirit of God, Romans 8: 5 - 13. Each believer must have a good spiritual ground in their spirit, for the spiritual fruit to mature. Gods Word is not planted in flesh, but in the spirit of believers. The good ground will produce spiritual fruit, Matthew 13: 3 - 9. Galatians 5: 22 tells what the spiritual fruits are. But there must be spiritual ground prepared for Gods word, Jeremiah 4: 3 Hosea 10: 12.

A. The greatest fruit, is the Love of God, 1 Corinthians 13: 13. That love is shed abroad in our spirit by the Holy Ghost, Romans 5: 5. The love of God is "as a stem" on a fruit. It feeds the fruit until it matures and works through the fruit as long as the fruit is connected to the "stem", the Love of God. If at any time the "stem" is broken the fruit dies. So before any fruit matures in our spirit, we must be filled with the Divine Love of God. That is an invitation for the Holy Ghost to come in and shed that Love in our spirit.

B. Joy, a fruit that has emotion, excitement, gladness and delight. This fruit only matures into heavenly joy, when the Love of God feeds it. Then we have joy that will draw from the heavenly well, Isaiah 12: 3. Gods word is joy, Jeremiah 15: 16. If we keep the fruit of joy maturing, we can say as Paul said "the end will be just as much joy as the beginning", Acts 20: 24.

C. Peace, a quietness, rest and security in the midst of turmoil, strife or temptation.

D. Long suffering fruit is not easily matured in our spirit. Endure patience and bear long can only mature as the Holy Ghost feeds us continually the Love of God.
E. Gentleness, a fruit that causes us to do things in a gentle way. The nature of Jesus, speak softly, be kind, even tempered as the Love of God works through our spirit. This fruit matures a godly character and conduct in our spirit.

F. Goodness, a fruit that sees only one race, that is the human race. We minister to all the WHOSOEVER , because they are human, created and loved by God .

G. Faith, a spiritual fruit that makes all other fruits work in our spirit. Faith is an inward, wholehearted, confidence, assurance and trust that believes all that God says. There is only one way to receive the fruit of faith, Romans 10: 17. Love for the word of God, plants the word in our spirit.

H. Meekness, the practice of a gentle fruit. Even balance of temper and passion, all without revenge. Some call meekness, weakness, NOT SO, Jesus was meek and there was no weakness in Him.

I. Temperance, a spiritual fruit of self control and moderation in ALL we do. Only the power of the Holy Ghost can control that fruit. Our flesh and our spirit do not always want to live in self-control or moderation.

Some of the fruits of the spirit have a harder time maturing in our spirit. That is when we must get alone with the Father and let Him by the Holy Ghost dress each branch, believers, so that the fruit will mature, John 15: 2. Is that easy? NO WAY, the flesh does not want to submit to the working of the Holy Ghost. It is our spiritual spirit against our flesh. Remember Jacob, Genesis 32: 24 - 32.
He was never the same again after he and God got alone. The flesh must die, 1 Corinthians 15: 31.

It is not what we say we are in God, but what our spirit says we are. The fruit of the Spirit speaks through us louder than any words we can say. Jesus is only seen through the spiritual fruits, as they mature in our spirit, Matthew 7: 17 - 20. Jesus is not talking about "apples and oranges", but about good and evil spirits. When the spiritual fruits of the Holy Ghost matures in our spirit, then we will "walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit", Romans 6: 1 - 4.
